How SupaCell Is Made
SupaCell turns kerbside paper and post-consumer soft plastics into high-performance insulation through an circular Australian-made process. Advanced nonwoven technology links recycling with manufacturing to create safe, efficient batts for modern buildings.

Advanced nonwoven processing
Precision fibre forming for consistent thermal and acoustic performance. -
Circular feedstock
Uses recycled paper, cardboard and recovered soft plastics from household Collection. -
Soft-plastic binder
Low-melt plastics function as a bonding agent within the fibre matrix. -
Low-temperature electric bonding
Thermally bonded in electric ovens at lower temperatures than conventional methods. -
R-value targeting
Manufactured to specified thickness and density to deliver required R-values, aligned with Australian Standards and NCC certification criteria. -
Standards and verification
Compliant with AS NZS 4859.1 thermal insulation requirements, AS 1530.1- Combustibility. Methods for fire tests on building materials, components and structures – Combustibility test.
The SupaCell Process
1. Collection
Recyclable paper, cardboard and soft plastics are gathered from local kerbside bins through partners such as IQ Renew and Curby, using existing yellow-lid services.
2. Sorting and preparation
Materials are carefully separated at Materials Recovery Facilities to create a clean, consistent feedstock ready for transformation into insulation.
3. Advanced processing
Using advanced fibre technology, SupaCell transforms recycled materials into durable insulation batts that deliver strong thermal, acoustic, and fire-safe performance.
4. Formation and finishing
Each batt is shaped, quality checked, and prepared for supply to builders, distributors, and developers nationwide.
5. Installation
Lightweight, low-dust batts are supplied to builders and distributors nationwide, enabling clean handling and straightforward fitting on site.
6. Circular renewal
At end of life, SupaCell can be reprocessed and remanufactured, supporting a genuine circular model for insulation materials.
